Launching a new erotica book is a really exciting process. I remember when I launched my first book…
I was so nervous! And I was practically sweating when I hit the publish button. Looking back, I made a ton of mistakes. I didn’t know any better.
But these days, I go through a simple three step process to launch all of my erotica eBooks.
As many of you know, launching a new book is incredibly important. Selling erotica is all about momentum.
If the launch goes well, big sales will follow!
If the launch doesn’t go well, it can be very hard to recover (if at all).
That’s why I’m going to share with you my three step strategy to ensure a GREAT erotica book launch!
Step #1
The first thing you want to do is let your newsletter subscribers know what is going on.
Your newsletter subscribers are often your most loyal and important fans. They wouldn’t have given you their contact information otherwise!
As a result, it’s very important to let them know what you are working on. Depending on how far along you are into your new erotica story, send them a quick sample.
The sample doesn’t even have to be an entire chapter. Just sending them a page or two from your new book should be enough to grab their attention.
I like to do this about a week before launch. This will build BIG anticipation for your subscribers.
If you build that anticipation up to the launch, they will be eager to hand you their money!
Step #2
When you ultimately launch your new erotica book, send an email to your newsletter subscribers right away.
Now it’s important to send out the email after Amazon has approved your book. In my experience, Amazon generally approves books within 12 – 48 hours.
Once your book has been approved, it can then take a few hours for it to show up in search results. But once it does include a link (with the book cover) and send it to your subscribers with a short description of the book!
Also, if you use any social media at all, let everyone know with a new post!
Basically, this step is all about letting people know your book is out there and ready to be purchased. If this step is successful, you should see sales within the hour.
Step #3
The final step is actually a bit underrated, but still very important. Once your book has been approved by Amazon, head on over to Author Central and add the book to your profile as soon as possible.
Author Central is basically your biography on Amazon. Amazon doesn’t add your books automatically, so you have to do it manually.
Doing this allows people to click on your author name and be transported to your author page where it lists all of your books!
The good thing is Amazon often puts your newest books on your Author Central page…which means customers will be much more likely to buy those books.
Final thoughts on launching your new eBook
If you follow these three tips, you should have a much smoother book launch.
Launching your erotica book is just like how movie studios launch movies or how developers launch video games. It is all about anticipation and getting the word out.
If you can master those two things, you will do very well!
